Who We Are
Industrial Union No. 330/ Construction Organizing Committee
The Construction Workers Organizing Committee (also known as C.W O.C.) welcomes you to the Industrial Workers of the World (I.W.W) and to our Industry! Industrial Union 330, is the Building Construction Workers’ Industrial Union of the I.W.W. We have a long and proud history.
I.U. 330 I.W.W, also known as the Wobblies, built much of the North American west and in doing so fought for the betterment of all workers, not just those lucky enough to hold a craft union card.
The I.W.W has a small but growing number of members working in the building trades of North America. We are a union that refuses to pretend that workers and bosses have the same interests, and pulls no punches. We are especially well adapted for the thousands of construction workers around the North America described as ‘independent contractors’. In our multi billion dollar Industry we say its hight time that trade workers, the builders of our cities and towns, got a hell of a lot more of what they produce! The I.W.W is not affiliated to any political parties, and are opposed to top down union structures.
Mission:
The C.W.O.C purpose is to assist our members with any issues that we face on the job. Whether it’s safety concerns with your employer, getting you the tools neccessary to create better working conditions on the job. We work to build a culture of brother and sisterhood among our members.
Currently we are building local Industrial Union Branches, developing organizing tools and networks.

Why the IWW?
The IWW is especially well-designed for Building Trade workers:
- We have flexible dues rate that is based on income.
- Unlike other unions, you can take your IWW membership to any job you work in, meaning that you don’t have to keep joining and leaving various different unions depending on your workplace.
- We are run and controlled by the membership. This means that the union can adapt and react quickly for workers who change jobs quickly, because the members call the shots.
- Our culture of grassroots and creative direct action – we don’t pretend that workers and bosses have the same economic interests. Cosying up to management gets workers nowhere, especially when turnover is so high.
- Even without a contract I.W.W organizers can help with disputes between you and the employer.
The IWW is the only union that has the fighting spirit and the right structures to help blue collar workers like you build a better life at work. Join us today!
